Opener brands we service

No matter what brand of garage door opener is in your garage, Brenner Garage Door can repair it. And when it's time for a replacement, we'll help you choose the right brand and model for your situation. We work with all major residential opener manufacturers and carry common parts for the most popular brands on our trucks for same-day repairs.

LiftMaster

LiftMaster is the professional-grade brand from Chamberlain Group and the most widely installed opener brand in the country. It's what most garage door companies (us included) recommend and install. LiftMaster openers are sold exclusively through professional dealers — you won't find them at Home Depot or Lowe's.

What sets them apart
Built-in myQ WiFi on most models, battery backup options, Security+ 2.0 rolling code technology, and a wide range from basic chain drives to premium wall-mount units. They offer the broadest smart home integration of any opener brand.
Best for
Homeowners who want professional-grade reliability and full smart features. Our most recommended brand for new installations.
Common repairs
Gear and sprocket replacement, logic board issues, remote programming, safety sensor alignment. We carry LiftMaster parts on our trucks.

Chamberlain

Chamberlain is the consumer brand from the same company that makes LiftMaster. They share the same core technology, including myQ smart connectivity, but Chamberlain models are available at retail stores. If you bought your opener at Home Depot, Lowe's, or Costco, there's a good chance it's a Chamberlain.

What sets them apart
Same myQ platform and motor technology as LiftMaster at a retail price point. Good build quality with smart features standard on most current models.
Best for
Homeowners who want solid performance with myQ smart features at a lower price than LiftMaster's professional line.
Common repairs
Same as LiftMaster — gear assemblies, circuit boards, and sensor issues. Parts are widely available and often interchangeable with LiftMaster equivalents.

Genie

Genie is the second-largest opener brand in the US and has been around since 1954. They make belt drive, chain drive, and wall-mount openers, and their smart platform is called Aladdin Connect. Genie openers are available through both professional dealers and retail stores.

What sets them apart
Aladdin Connect smart platform, Intellicode rolling code security, and their SilentMax series, which is one of the quieter belt drives on the market. They also make a compact wall-mount model that's popular for garages with limited ceiling space.
Best for
Homeowners looking for a reliable alternative to LiftMaster/Chamberlain, especially if quiet operation is a priority.
Common repairs
Screw drive maintenance (older models), gear replacement, circuit board failures, and Intellicode remote reprogramming. We service all Genie models.

Craftsman

Craftsman openers were sold through Sears for decades and are still in millions of garages across the country. While Sears no longer operates the way it used to, Craftsman openers are still available and still serviceable. Older Craftsman models were actually manufactured by Chamberlain or Genie, so the internals are familiar to us.

What sets them apart
Widespread availability and name recognition. Many homeowners have had a Craftsman in the garage for 15-20 years and know the brand well.
Best for
Homeowners who already have one and want to keep it running. For new installations, we typically recommend LiftMaster or Chamberlain as a more current option.
Common repairs
Gear and sprocket wear (very common on older units), capacitor failure, remote range issues, and safety sensor problems. Parts are still available for most models.

Other brands we service

Beyond the big four, we also repair and service:

If your brand isn't listed here, don't worry — we can still work on it. Garage door openers share common mechanical and electrical principles across brands, and we've seen just about everything.

How we choose what to recommend

When it's time for a new opener, we don't push one brand over another. We recommend based on your specific situation: your door's weight and size, your garage layout (headroom, ceiling height), how important quiet operation is, whether you want smart features, and your budget. We'll walk you through the options and explain the trade-offs so you can make an informed decision.

Frequently asked questions

Can you get parts for older opener brands?

Yes, in most cases. We carry common parts for LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, and Craftsman on our trucks. For less common brands or discontinued models, we can usually source parts within a day or two. If a part is truly unavailable, we'll let you know and discuss replacement options.

Is LiftMaster really better than the others?

LiftMaster is our most recommended brand because of its build quality, smart features, and professional support network. But "better" depends on your needs. If you want a budget-friendly option, Chamberlain uses the same core technology at a lower price. If you want a quiet alternative, Genie's SilentMax is excellent. We'll recommend whatever fits your situation best.

My opener brand isn't listed. Can you still fix it?

Almost certainly. All residential openers work on the same basic principles — a motor, a drive mechanism, safety sensors, and a control board. Even if we haven't seen your exact brand before, we can diagnose and repair it. Give us a call and describe the issue.

Should I stick with the same brand when replacing my opener?

Not necessarily. The best brand for your replacement depends on your current needs, not what was installed before. If you liked your old opener's brand, we're happy to stay with it. But if you want to explore other options — like upgrading from a chain drive Craftsman to a smart LiftMaster belt drive — we'll help you compare.
