Garage Door and Opener Replacement in Mesa
A Mesa garage door whose top section was damaged by a faulty opener, replaced in about four hours with a heavier gauge steel door and a new opener that runs properly and safely.
Completed October 2026 · Mesa
What we found
This Mesa homeowner called us about the top section of their garage door, which a faulty opener had damaged. When we arrived and did our safety inspection, we found the opener's motor had malfunctioned while closing the door and driven into the top section. When a motor keeps pushing after the door should have stopped, the top section takes the force, and that is where the damage was.
What we did
Our first thought was to replace just the top section. That didn't work out, because the door was no longer manufactured and a matching section couldn't be had. So we replaced the door, and we replaced the faulty opener along with it, since that motor was what damaged the door in the first place. The new door is a heavier gauge steel than the old one. The door and opener installation took roughly four hours.
How it turned out
The homeowner came out of this with two upgrades: a heavier gauge steel door, and an opener that operates properly and safely instead of one that was damaging the door it was supposed to move. The before and after photos show the old door and the new one in the same opening. If your opener has started doing something it shouldn't, call (480) 520-9000 and we'll take a look before it costs you a door.
