Field dust, open ground, and doors that have seen a lot of summers
Working farmland surrounds Coolidge, and a good share of what the tractors and the wind kick up ends up in your garage. Fine field dust mixes with the grease on the tracks and hinges into a paste that wears down rollers, and a door that ran quietly in spring can be grinding by fall. Summer monsoon storms push walls of that dust across the fields and into town. On lots without shade, the sun dries out the rubber weather seal along the bottom of the door until it splits, and a hot garage is hard on the springs. The mid-century houses near downtown have had decades of all of it: stiff hinges, rusted bottom brackets, and wood panels split at the joints. When we come out for one broken part, we check the rest of the door too.
Our services in Coolidge
Repair
Springs, cables, rollers, panels, and tracks. On Coolidge's older homes we often find hardware that has been on the door since the house was built, and we replace it before it fails.
Garage door repairInstallation
Worn wood doors and thin single-layer steel doors swapped for an insulated door that fits the opening. We measure, install, and haul the old door away.
New door installationOpeners
First-time opener installs on doors that have always been lifted by hand, plus repairs and upgrades on the openers you already have.
Opener servicesMaintenance
Dust off the fields gets into rollers, tracks, and seals. Our tune-up cleans and lubricates the moving parts, checks spring balance, and catches seal wear before the grit does real damage.
Maintenance tune-upsOlder garages in town, newer ones at the edges
Many of the older garages in Coolidge still open the old way: a one-piece wood door that swings up and out on heavy side springs, or a door you lift by hand because it never had an opener. Those doors can last a long time, but the springs and pivot arms wear out, and parts for them get harder to find. We replace them with a sectional door that rolls straight up on its own tracks, so nothing swings out over the driveway, and we can add an opener on the same visit or later. Before we quote, we check what older garages tend to be short on: height between the top of the opening and the ceiling for the tracks and opener rail, room on each side for the track brackets, and a solid header to mount to. Garages that started out as carports get the same measuring, since their openings rarely match a standard size.
Out on the edges of town, Heartland Ranch and Carter Ranch went up from the mid 2000s with builder-grade steel doors, and the oldest of those are reaching the age when springs break and openers wear out. Both neighborhoods have homeowners associations, so before we recommend a replacement we check your guidelines for style and color.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take you to get to Coolidge from Mesa?
Roughly an hour. From our East Mesa shop we come down Hunt Highway or out US 60 and SR 79 through Florence, or south on SR 87, so plan on two to three hours for a technician to arrive. Same-day service is usually available, and the 24/7 emergency line covers nights and weekends.
My older garage door has never had an opener. Can you add one?
Usually, yes. An opener only works well on a door that is balanced, so we check the springs first and make sure the door lifts easily by hand. We also measure the headroom above the opening, because the rail and motor need space that some older garages don't have. If the door is too worn or too heavy to run safely on a motor, we'll tell you and quote a new door and opener together.
My garage used to be a carport. Can you fit a door to it?
Yes. Carports that were closed in later are common in Coolidge's older neighborhoods, and their openings rarely come out a standard size. One might be wider than a single door but narrower than a double, or sit lower where the old carport roof was. We measure the opening before we quote, order a door made for it, and fit the tracks, springs, and bottom seal to what's there. You see the price before anything is ordered.
