What we found

What we did
We went with a heavy-duty flush-panel door: no raised panels or embossing, four smooth white sections with a fine horizontal line between each. It's built with a steel back and insulation between the two skins, which makes the door stiffer and quieter than a single-layer door and slows the heat coming through it in summer. We ordered the door after the Monday call and had it installed a few days later, so the homeowner wasn't stuck with a broken door for long.
How it turned out
