New Insulated Garage Door Installation — Apache Junction
A west-facing door in Apache Junction that radiated heat into the garage all afternoon, replaced with a steel-back insulated long-panel door.
Completed April 2026 · Apache Junction
What we found
This Apache Junction home had a dated short-panel garage door that faced west — the worst direction a door can face in Arizona. All afternoon the sun hit the door, and the door radiated that heat straight into the garage, so the space was uncomfortable to use for much of the year and hard on anything stored in it. A single-skin door has nothing between the sun and the room behind it, so whatever the afternoon brings comes straight through.
What we did
We replaced the old door with a highly insulated long-panel door with a steel back. A steel-back insulated door sandwiches the insulation between two steel skins, which cuts heat transfer far better than a single-skin door and makes the door stiffer and quieter as well. It is the door we recommend for any west-facing garage in the East Valley, where the afternoon sun does the most damage.
How it turned out
The garage now stays cool through the hot summer months, and the long-panel design gave the front of the home a crisp, modern curb-appeal boost. The homeowner also gets a quieter, more solid-feeling door every time it opens. If your garage bakes every afternoon, call (480) 520-9000 and we'll talk about what an insulated door can do for it.
