Insulated Garage Door Replacement — Alta Mesa
A worn-out 1980s double door in Alta Mesa replaced with an insulated short-panel door, so the garage's new mini-split can keep it cool.
Completed July 2026 · Mesa
What we found
Our customers in Alta Mesa called us to replace a garage door that had been on the house since the 1980s — worn out, dented along the lower panels, with dated sunburst windows to match. They had also just added a mini-split air conditioner to the garage so they could work on their motorcycles in comfort, and an old uninsulated door was going to let that cool air straight back out.
What we did
We replaced the door top to bottom with a new insulated short-panel double door. The insulated construction is what makes the difference here: it slows heat transfer through the door, so the cold air the mini-split produces stays in the garage instead of leaking through the biggest opening in the room. We finished with a fresh bottom seal so the door closes tight.
How it turned out
The garage now holds its cool through the hotter months of the Arizona desert, and the front of the house looks clean and current instead of forty years old. The homeowners were very pleased with the work. If you're conditioning your garage — or just tired of it being the hottest room in the house — an insulated door is the first thing to look at. Call (480) 520-9000 and we'll walk you through the options.
